TLV320AI3204 AGC CONFIGURATION

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3204

Hi,

i'm configuring AGC in a C5505 eZdsp with codec AIC3204.

Reading "TLV320AIC3204 Application Reference Guide", i didn't understand how to evaluate the Target Level.

The configuration explains it in term of FULL SCALE signal, but i don't understand what it means.

Can somebody provide an example?

Thanks in advance

Paolo

  • HI, Paolo,

The Full-scale level is the maximum digital value that the ADC of the device can read without distortion. The analog input level where the full-scale is reached depends on the application and configuration of the device. The different levels for each particular use case are specified in the Electrical Characteristics, ADC table of the datasheet, as the Input signal level (0dB) parameter.

For example, if you configured the inputs in Single-ended mode with a common mode voltage of 0.9V, then you need to apply an input signal of 0.5Vrms to get  the Full-scale voltage (0dB). From this assumption, the Target level values will be referenced to the full-scale input voltage of 0.5Vrms.
