TPA321: Question regarding the shutdown pin

Part Number: TPA321

Hello,

If the shutdown pin of the amplifier is held high (amplifier is held in “shutdown” mode), will the VO+ (pin 8) and VO- (pin 5) pins be in a high impedance state?  I want to multiplex signals on these pins: have them be analog output signals in one mode but have digital signals on them in “shutdown” mode.  I need to know if the digital inputs (5V or gnd) on VO+ and VO- will damage the TPA321D. Please let me know what you think.

Thank you

  • Hi Julien,

The device is in high impedance when the shutdown mode is active. I think that your application shouldn't have any problem if the device is in shutdown mode while the digital signal is multiplexed.
