LM49350: Audio CODEC IC availability inquiry

Hi,

- Application: Android phone
PCM & I2S interface: 2 channels
Control Interface: I2C
Analog input: Mic x 2
Analog output: Speaker (1.2W / 8Ω), Receiver, Headphone

I am looking for a codec to be used for the above purposes, and I would like to ask if the LM49350 is available.

Please also check the block diagram in the datasheet that if there is a block that can do 'noise cancelation'.

    Hi, TS,

    This device is still available so it can be used if it meets your requirements. There is no Noise Cancellation block or function for this device, this feature should be implemented in an external processor.

    Hi Diego,
    Thank you for your fast replying.
    Please check just one thing.

    The feature on the first page of the datasheet states that two PCM inputs are possible, but the block diagrams and typical applications that follow appear to use one as input and one as output.

    At the block diagram above, I need two inputs separately.
    1. the voice call from Modem,
    2. multimedia in CPU,

    Please confirm that 2 channel PCM input is available with LM49350.
    Also, please let me know if you can share PCM related blocks in more detail.

    Hi, TS,

    Thanks for the feedback, the device is able to handle two different PCM inputs, and features an internal Digital mixer to route the inputs to different outputs of the device.

    Unfortunately, we don't have additional PCM related blocks apart from the ones included in the datasheet.

    Hi Diego,

    We have some concept change, so ask you again regarding audio codec.

    We are reviewing the above two cases.

    1) CODEC with Echo cancelation function

    - Please check if there is any recommended product among TI products.

    2) Converts PCM to I2S and uses Qualcomm reference CODEC

    - Among TI products, LM49370 can convert PCM to I2S, but it seems to be a little expensive.

    - Please check if we can convert PCM to I2S with LM49350 which you recommended before.

    Hi, TS,

    Please refer to my comments below:

    1- Unfortunately, we don;t have a device capable of performing an Echo Cancellation function, the miniDSP of our parts is not powerfull enogugh to develop a successful algorithm. AN external DSP is recommended, maybe you can ask our colleagues in the DSP forum for a device recommendation.

    2- The LM49350 might be able to be used as a bridge between PCM and I²S interfaces, please refer to the Digital Mixers section of the datasheet.
