TLV320ADC3101EVM-K: Connectivity issues

Part Number: TLV320ADC3101EVM-K
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320ADC3101

Hi,

we're currently trying to bring-up a working connection with the TLV320ADC3101 evaluation kit.

The switches of SW-2 are set according to table 1 in the user guide,

the TLV320ADC3101EVM is connected to its motherboard (USB-MODEVM).

The setup is powered via USB.

We have tried to get a connection with the software running under Windows 7 but have not been successful so far.

Jumper W11 may have been installed in our factory default setup - which does not match the default pos. "not installes" in table 2 - so we have tried different configurations with the jumper installed/ removed.

The evaluation software is started with compatibility for "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)", as also shown and described in the user manual.

There may be still a problem with:

  • USB drivers,
  • firmware,
  • jumper settings.

Can you please provide more detailed steps how the setup can be debugged and how we can get a working configuration?

From the device manager:

Attached HW, no admin rights, W11 not installed:

Attached HW, no admin rights, W11 installed:

Started with admin rights, but without HW (on a colleague's PC):

We had the USB status indicator light up green in the eval software yesterday. Unfortunately, we cannot make it light up green today and don't have a clue why.
Anyway, we've never had a working setup so far.

Cheers,
Matthias

  • Hi, Matthias,

Sorry for the difficulties on getting the EVM to work. This issue is actually related to the SW2 setting, for the 'ADC3101 device the position of the SW2-2 should be set to OFF. Please put W11 back and change SW2-2 to OFF. This should work to get the EVM connected to the GUI.

The configuration of the User's guide is a typo which comes from a different EVM that requires SW2-2 to be set as ON.

We will update the EVM User's guide to fix this issue.
