TAS5715: PBTL Mode Configuration

Part Number: TAS5715

Can I get PBTL mode reference design of  TAS5715 and register configurations?

  • HI Vishnu,

For TAS5715 PBTL mode, it's very similar to BTL mode. Please connect OUTA and OUTB after the LC filter, connect OUTC and OUTD after the LC filter. Drive PBTL pin to High voltage level. Please find the TAS5715 register configuration file in the attachment.

    5715_pbtl.cfg

  • Check this schematics. is it ok? and is it need to consider polarity when connecting to a speaker?

All other configuration is fine. only doubt about output power. When I connect 500w 4ohm speaker at the output, the speaker is burned, why it happens?

  • I reviewed the SCH and have the following comments:
    1. Please 18.2kOm 5% resistor for OSC_RES
    2. If you can connect OUTA/OUTB, OUTC/OUTD after the inductors, the performance could be even improved.
But I don't think they could cause burning the speaker. How much is the output power from the device? Did you measuere the output waveform without the load/speaker? Does it look normal? Please compare your register configuration to the one I sent you, see if there is anything suspicious. Generally the 500w/4ohm speaker can sustain the TAS5715 output power without any problem. Is there any DC voltage on the speaker?
    Best regards,
