PCM1794A: Difference b/w PCM1794 and PCM1794A

Part Number: PCM1794A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1794,

Hi,

I would like you to confirm difference b/w PCM1794(Non A version) and PCM1794A.

Could you please show it to me ?

Best regards,

  • Machida-san,

I am not aware of what caused the device revision, but generally revisions are to modify features or performance or to increase yield. The PCM1794 is not recommended for new designs. I could not find any difference in the specification, so I suspect the revision was to improve yield. I recommend using the PCM1794A if possible.

    Thanks!
    Paul
  • Hello Paul-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

      >The PCM1794 is not recommended for new designs

    Yes, we understand.

Previously, customer evaluated non-A version, but we suggest to use A version due to above reason.

However, they asked difference b/w non-A and A version...

At least, we want to know why A version is released (not require detail)..... Is there no evidence ?

    Best regards,

  • Machida-san,

I was able to confirm this device had a very minor die revision to improve yield during production. The devices functional and specified performance did not change. Thanks!
