Hi,

I need to detect the phase between two sinusoidal signals (0 to 1000 Hz). Does TI have a chip that would accomplish this by mixing these signals and providing a dc voltage which would be proportional to the phase difference or by any other means?

Hopefully I have addressed the proper forum.

Thanks for your question. CD74ACT297 is a digital PLL that may work for your application. You can find alternate PLL soultions here: www.ti.com/.../products.html

Will a digital pll work for an analog signal? I can see how it would for pulse trains but not a sinusoidal signal.

Hi Al,
You are correct - the PLL's in the Standard Logic portfolio are all designed to operate with square clock signals. You could convert the signals to square waves using a comparator and then use a logic PLL to compare the phase.
