TLV320AIC3106-Q1: Is It Possible Routing TLV320AIC3106-Q1's I2S To PCM When Both For 2 Separate Devices?

Part Number: TLV320AIC3106-Q1

Our Case Is Posted Here But Finally Get No Answers For Our Questions. Here Comes Again With Our Problems. We Currently Follow Reference Design Mentioned In Datasheet Page 42. Here Is An Example Diagram:

And Our Audio Routing Diagram As Below

Unlike My Last Post Here Is A Simplified Diagram Different From Which Posted. My Question Are:

Can We Routing Voice From Bluetooth Through AIC3106-Q1 To Host Processor? It Means 2 Channel I2S (Secondary May Use Internal Mux) Bus Shall Be Enabled In The Meantime? Let Me To Clarify My Purpose. I Want To Record Voice From HSP Device Back Into Host. My Older Question In Another Post Also Points Out It. Your Block Diagram Only Shows One DOUT PIN For Bluetooth PCM Use. Does It Mean We Cannot Use Both Of I2S/PCM At Same Time? If You DOUT PIN Is Occupied By Either Of Host Processor Can Another Path For Hands-Free Can Be Used In The Same Time?

Meanwhile Also Outgoing Voice By Line In Path Back To Bluetooth Module Through PCM?

Is It Possible?

  • Hi Bright,

No, this is not possible.  You can only use one Audio bus at a time.  see the diagram below from datasheet.

WCLK, BCLK and DIN are all muxed. if you have GPIO1 selected as WCLK,  then the WCLK pin is disconnected from the audio bus.

if you need more than one audio bus, the TLV320AIC326x devices have 3 independent audio serial data buses.  there is not an Automotive qualified version of these devices however.
