TPA3128D2: Replace TPA3118D2 by TPA3128D2

Dear Sir,

Our customer would replace TPA3118D2 by TPA3128D2.

We've check on datasheet and find that TPA3128D2 improve operation and standby current.

Would you help to point out if any other difference between two chips?

Especial on acoustic performance.

    Kane,

    The devices are Pin-to-Pin compatible but some things have changed slightly. For example the GVDD is lower for the new TPA3128 device. Please review the differences closely in the datasheet.

    Please review the THD and Noise plots on the two datasheets. This will help you understand the Acoustic differences between the two parts.

    Hi Kane,
    As Adam dscribed, TAP3128D is a pin-2-pin compatible device to TPA3118D2, so users can replace TAP3118D2 in the existing design with TPA3128D2 very easily. The new feature on TPA328D2 is as below:
    1. Low idle current mode to save power
    2. Supports 300kHz switching frequency
    3. Supports seperature AVCC/PVCC supply
    4. Supports individual channel shutdown
    These feature are also explained in detail in the TPA3128D2 datasheet. Besides, the performance(e.g. THD, efficiency...) on TPA3128D2 is the same as or even better than TPA3118D2. And we commend user to use differential input mode as much as possible to achieve a good performance.
