TLV320AIC34EVM digital loopback

Hi,

I am working on a TLV320AIC34EVM evaluation board with the USB-MODEVM.

I would like to do a digital loopback as described in this thread: http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/audio_converters/f/64/t/2432.aspx

ADC->DOUT->DIN->DAC FILTERS->DAC->AMP

I have set SW2.4 (USB I2S) to the right (OFF/HI), placed a jumper between J17A.11 - J17A.13 and BCLK and WCLK as outputs, but it just doesn't work.

It works fine if the output is from the PGA, but then I can't use the digital filters.

Do I have to use an external clock or can I still use the USB MCK (SW-2.5)

Thank you!

  • The configuration you describe should work fine. You can use the USB MCLK. Just to be clear, in this case you would want switch 4 and 8 to be to the right and all others to the left.

    You might want to verify the MCLK, WCLK and BCLK are present with a scope. Also make sure that you are using and programming the correct block.
