Will PCM5121 VS PCM5142 specifications What is the difference, in addition to the SNR of the DAC, did not find elsewhere in different, but the price is very different

Hi Allan,

The biggest difference is that the PCM5142 features a programmable DSP! This allows the DAC to provide additional features, such as EQs, DRC, mixers, and digital crossovers. This is the primary feature that drives the cost differential.

Please look at the Datasheet PCM5121 & PCM5142 have Mini DSP, IC internal block diagram and Mini DSP block diagram are similar, since the Mini DSP on the function, the PCM5121 & PCM5142 DSP function should be the same

Hi Allan,

While both devices have a DSP, the PCM512x is limited to the present flow described in the datasheet. The PCM514x has a more full feature DSP that the user can generate unique or custom flows with PPS. They can also modify flows to operate at different sample rates.

I understand ~ PCM512x is similar to Digital I2S Input Class-D Amplifier DSP (TAS57XX series)
The PCM514x TLV320AIC3254 similar to the DSP

Hi Yu,

Yes, but I would recommend you try purepath studios to configure the device, then export the I2C command list and implement that in your microcontroller. The commands can get extensive!
