TAS2560: What is TAS2560's sensed V/I PCM data format?

Part Number: TAS2560

Hi,TI

I have a TAS2560 EVM board, and I want to get the amplifier's sensed voltage and current data.

I set TAS2560 in mode 2 (PCM input playback + PCM IVSense output), but I do not find the PCM IVSense output format in the TAS2560 datasheet. I just find  figure 52(Mode 2 Processing Block Diagram), so how L/R Mix work?

In addition I don't know the resolution about the V/I ADC and the PCM output format, so I can't identify significance bits in the transmit  data.

finally, I try to mute VSense and ISense (set MUTE_ISNS and MUTE_VSNS to 1) , in my opinion DOUT should always be 0V (When I mute the audio, DOUT is always 0V), but I get the wave as shown below

the green wave is DOUT and the purple wave is WCLK, what is happening ? What is this data?

  • Hi,

The DOUT sends I data on Left Channel and V data on Right Channel. It is sent in I2S format. The max values that give full scale digital output are listed in Electric Characteristics table, data sheet page 8.
I will check about this residual value on I sense when in mute. However if IV sense is not used you can select ROM Mode 1.
