Why is the pad of TPA3111D1 bigger than TPA3111D1-Q1?

Hi Went,
These two devices are very similar, but TPA3111D1-Q1 can be used for automotive application while TPA3111D1 can't. As you mentioned, TPA3111D1-Q1 has smaller thermal pad than TPA3111D1, but it doesn't affact the thermal performance considering that the output power is not high(10W level). For these lower output power devices, the second package(smaller thermal pad) are more and more used.

But why can not they be the same design? So that we can use anyone by one layout.

Hi Went,
I understand, but they are defined for the different applications - TPA3111D1 is for consume market while TPA3111D1-Q1 is for automotive market.
