TAS5755M: pop issue

Part Number: TAS5755M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5751M

Hello

My customer had bought / evaluated TAS5755M EVM with 2.1ch configulation.

The reason why TAS5755M chosen is price.

The application is sound bar ( 20W x 4 + 40W x2) , so we thought 2 x 2.1ch TAS5755M may

fit from cost.

However, POP when SHUTDOWN ON/OFF (from GUI) is severe for SE.

BTL has no issue.

This seems inherent issue of split cap and it seems hard to solve externally.

(Add and adjust any resistor in parallel is very difficult for production)

So, I will recommend customer to consider 3x BTL .

I will suggest customer 3x TAS5751M.

Would you please have any another idea ?

Please advise.

  • Hi Kanji-san,
The current measurement is based on the TAS5755M EVM , right? Did you follow the recommended sequence in the Figure 69? Please find more info in the section 10.2.1.2.4.3 and 10.2.1.2.4.4. Please don't forget to write 0x40 to register 0x05 before removing the power supply.
    Best regards,

    Dear Zheng san

Thank you for your answer immediately.

Yes, customer use TAS5755M EVM and it GUI.

Customer let power on in advance, exit shutdown, unmute from GUI ( see attached)

So I think power on sequence is not issue.

In case BTL, no pop issue.

In case SE, pop which customer heard is not acceptable.

    Best Regards
