Hi,

Now a customer is interested in SmartAmp device TAS2770.
I have some questions about TAS2770EVM and PPC3 TAS2770 plug-in.

Q1. Does PPC3 TAS2770 app include Characterization tab?
Q2. If TAS2770 app has a Characterization tab, does it use Learning Board 2?
TAS2770EVM seems not to be able to connect to Learning Board 2.
Q3. Can we use a speaker characterization data measured by PPC3 Learning Board app
including SPL measurement in TAS2770 app ?

    Hi Akio,

    TAS2770 doesn't have a characterization tab and can't be connected to the learning board 2 as this device doesn't have DSP. Thus, it can't implement a speaker protection algorithm for itself.
    TAS2770 needs that a host creates a speaker protection algorithm used IV sense that provides speaker voltage and current sense for real-time monitoring of loudspeaker behavior.

    Thank you for your answer. I misunderstood TAS2770 as a 'Smart AMP' device which had a DSP, because the Architecture column of TAS2770 in Quick Search said 'Class-D Smart Amp'.
