TPA3132D2: speaker amp

Part Number: TPA3132D2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3130D2

Hello!

My customer wants our review before schematic change.

This change makes efficiency improvement of speaker amp as they tested with 4ohm 5W mono speaker.

Could you concirm please? Thank you.

  • Hi Kenneth,
The above left circuit shows the post-filter PBTL mode, while the right one shows the pre-filter PBTL. In the pre-filter PBTL connection mode, only two filter are needed and two filter can be saved comparing to post-filter connection. TPA3130D2 can support the both connection mode very well.
I found that the capacitors in the output filter are changed from 1nF to 100pF, why? I think you need to use the same filter configuration for pre-filter mode. The RC snubbers after the ferrite bead + capacitor output filter is basically used for the EMI supression and you could adapt the RC values during EMI tunning.
    Best regards,

  • Hi Shawn,
Thank you for your prompt answer in detail. Your explanation helps me a lot. I recommended to use 1nF for output filter capacitor instead of 100pF.
