TLV320AIC3256: Power sequencing

Part Number: TLV320AIC3256

Greetings!
hope someone can help:
IC app note SLAU306A mentions as follows:

"2.9.0.2 Other Supply Options - Power Up Sequence

To supply the power pins from independent supplies, the powerup sequence is: Vsys, IOVdd, DVdd,

DVdd_CP, AVdd and then DRVdd_HP. Multiple domains may be powered up at the same time."

Q.  I intend to use the voltage levels as below.  Does "Multiple domains may be powered up at the same time" mean I can power up 1.5V,  1.8V and 3.0V at the same time?

IOVdd = 1.5V.

Vsys, DVdd,  DVdd_CP and AVdd = 1.8V.

DRVdd_HP = 3.0V.

Q.  If ok,  'at the same time' means a certain time window,  is within 100 ms reasonable for this chip?

thanks n rgds,  setoh.

  • Hi, Setoh,

    The 'AIC3256 supports the turn-on of multiple power supply levels at the same time, there is no issue with this power sequence. In general, there is no specific time restriction for the power supply sequence, 100ms should be fine if meets the system requirements. One thing to mention is that we recommend to keep /RESET pin in low state until all the power supplies are stable.
