PUREPATH-CMBEVM: PUREPATH-CMBEVM "End System Integration" feature

Part Number: PUREPATH-CMBEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5753MD, TAS5753MDEVM

Hello,

I have a PurePath CMBEVM RevG (I believe, it says AIPOOG in the silk). I have the PPC software 3.1.1 with TAS5753MD app version 3.0.2 installed.

I can successfully connect to a TAS5753MDEVM board and play audio and modify parameters. Now I am trying to connect the Purepath CMBEVM with my prototype TAS5753MD board.

I'm powering the CMBEVM directly with the TAS5753MDEVM disconnected, and have its I2C and I2S jumpers connected to my board. I've used the End System Integration "In-System Debugging" feature to successfully read registers from board over i2c. I'm not sure how to use the "In-System Tuning" feature.

There are I2S headers and scope probe clips on the board at J4, however it seems like these are intended as external I2S inputs. I've not seen any signals on these pins, and the schematic (Rev F) shows them as inputs to a mux. This has me scratching my head because if that's true then there is no way to use USB audio with the "In-System Tuning" feature. Perhaps I'm meant to supply my own external signal on the I2S pins when using this feature?

Any clarifications welcome.
