    Hi, Ray,

    The PCM1863 and PCM1865 are devices which can operate in a 3-wire I²S mode, without a MCLK/SCKI master clock. This family of  devices features an advanced automatic clock detection which can configure the PLL to generate an internal system clock for the device operation. The Automatic clock detection will work only with standard audio clocks. Please refer to section 9.3.9.4 of the datasheet for more details.
