TAS5782M: Question of TAS5782's Auto Mute Function

Hi Sirs,

Please refer to the TAS5782's page 0x0, register 0x41’s configuration. we found that the TAS5782 enters auto mute mode when input signal lower than -53dB FS, and resume to normal operation when higher than -50dB FS. 3dB hysteresis. Is it in-line with TAS5782’s design?

Hi Wayne,

The auto mute (zero detect) function is triggered by the length of continuous zero data. See Page 49 of TAS5782M datasheet for more details.
If non-zero data show up again, TAS5782M will be un-muted.

I would suggest you check the input signals with a scope to see whether the auto mute is working correctly.
