TLV320AIC3262: 3 I2S source, mix to one channel TDM output

Part Number: TLV320AIC3262

Hi Team,

My customer need a solution to mix 3 channel I2S inputs to one channel TDM output as below diagram. please suggest a suitable solution. thanks.

so far, their solution's cost is very high, about dozens of dollars.

  • Hi, Yue,

TheAIC3262 is an audio codec which has three available serial interfaces. Within the miniDSP of this part, it is possible to perform the mixing of the different audiointerfaces, however, for an application like this, the device is limited to have only two I²S sources leaving the remaining interface to act as the multi-channel digital output.

If the sources required by you customer are mono, the AIC3262 might be able to fit in this application, mixing two channels on one interface and the remaining on the second,  however, if customer is looking for the mixing of three stereo I²S sources, the application will not be supported.

  • Diego,
The inputs is stereo. Can AIC3262 support two I2S inputs and one TDM output? it is also an acceptable solution, in my case, the soc can support TDM, just lack of I2S port. if the function is OK to AIC3262, can you provide a implement method. thanks.
  • Hi, Yue,

As I mentioned before, two I²S input and a TDM output is supported by this device. The implementation should be done within the miniDSP of the codec, for this, PurePath Studio software is required. I made a quick diagram to show how the mixing is done in PPS, please refer to below.

Also, please consider that the interfaces used should be configured properly.
