TAS5411-Q1: Resister value between IN_P/N and GND

Part Number: TAS5411-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer asked how to select proper value for the resister on node IN_P/N and GND, as shown R5 and R6 in Figure 17 application schematic of the datasheet.

Could you provide background idea for selecting R5 and R6 of the figure?

Best regards,

  • Fujihara-san,

These two resistors are 49.9kOhm in our schematic.  These must be sized according to the source.  In our EVM, we do not know the source.  Therefore, we provided a high resistance for the source to drive.  If driven from a differential source, these resistors may not be needed.  Only a single resistor from IN_P to IN_N  is needed and nothing to ground.

To answer your question properly, I need to know the audio source.

  • Hi Scott-san,

Thanks a lot for the answer. Input signal will be provided from built-in DAC of CPU, differentially.

I will answer to the custom to select enough resistor by taking DAC output impedance into account.

    Best regards,
