TPA3131D2: Connection to Tweeter speaker

Part Number: TPA3131D2

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask TPA3131D2?

<Question1>
Is it possible to configure with attachement file?(Please refer to the attachment file.)
We assume that it depends on PVDD and overcurrent protection.

<Question2>
Could you let us know TPA3131D2's modulation method? BD Mode or 1SPW Mode?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Matsumoto-san,
    Please find my answers below:
    Q1: Technically there is no problem in this usage as soon as the OC FAULT is not triggered. But you need to know that the recommended min load resistance in BTL mode is 3.2Ohm, you can find this info in the datasheet. In this case, the load is as low as 2.67Ohm. With very load resistance, OC FAULT could be triggered easily. But it should be OK if the output power is very low and the output current is far from the OC THR. Another concern is that the efficiency is lower when the load resistance is lower. Please also consider this factor.
    Please be noted that the output power on the tweeter speaker (4Ohm) is twice of full range speaker(8Ohm) for high frequency components, because the voltage on them are the same.
    Q2: BD mode
