Dear TI Experts,

My customer is evaluating TAS5731M on a speaker project, they found when suddenly powered off, speaker would make a short "zzz" noise, they tried to cut off the input audio source and tie PD pin to GND , however the "zz" noise still exist when power off, attached is related schematics, could you kindly give some advice about such issue? Thanks a lot.

  • Bruce,

Is this happening on the customer board? or on an EVM?

Can you provide us with a oscilloscope image of the differential speaker output when the noise is heard?

How is the board powered? Sometimes a noisy power supply can couple into the system and come through the speaker. Can the customer try a different power supply?

    Regards,

    -Adam
  • Dear Adam,
Thanks a lot for your support. It happened on customer's board. They'll check it on EVM and double check the power supply. I'll update when I get feedback.
