TLV320AIC3262: purepath studio installation issue: "1152:Error extracting to the temporary location"

Part Number: TLV320AIC3262

Hi Team,

I got the PPS software. when I clicked to install it, it pop up  an Error window as below, please kindly suggest how to fix it. thanks.

I tried to download  several times, but the result is same, My PC OS is WIN7.

  • Hi, Yue,

This is not a common error, so  it is possible that there is a permission required in your computer to install the software. Can you try installing it with administrator rights and/or compatibility mode enabled?.

  • Diego,
still stuck on this installation. I tried on other colleges' PC. all have the same problem. whatever WIN7 or WIN10, even XP. Can you suggest who should I contact to get help? thanks.
  • Hi, Yue,

I am looking into this and noticed it could be a problem with the installer getting corrupt while downloading, probably caused by some network settings. We tried in a laptop connected to the WiFi and had some issues with the downloaded file, however, after using LAN cable network, the file worked as expected. Can you please try installing from a different network without firewall limitations?.

  • Diego,

I tried the LAN cable network in office, still the same issue. Next, I will try the downloading in my home using the LAN cable network, will let you know the result. on the other hand, I just need to run your demo and show to customer. Is there a old version or previous version ?

  • Hi, Yue,

The only version of PPS we have available is the one currently available in MySecure software site, which is the version I use.

Please try downloading fro a different network and see if the file can be executed properly.

  • Still the same. I have also tried downloading at my home with a cable, all kinds of administrator mode and compatibility mode, even on others colleges ' laptop. No log, No workaround, just a pop-up window. Is there a contact window of this SW? I want to report this issue to them.
  • I am having the same error.   Windows 10 PC.

I have tried a variety of fixes and workarounds, and non work yet.

  • Yue,

This is not an issue related to the file itself, we have tried downloading the software on different networks with similar pop-up messages and were able to get a good setup file it by using a different network.

Currently there is no software people who can help with this issue.

  • Diego,

I am having the same issue on Win 7 SP1 x64. Downloading from a different network did not help so far. Could you please provide the exact file size (in bytes) and possibly a checksum of the working file to compare?

    Thank you!

    Martin

  • Hi, Martin,

This has been a strange issue, unfortunately the only workaround we have found is the network change. On below image you can find the exact size of the installer file.

  • Hi Diego,

I am having the same problem and am unable to install PPS. I downloaded and tried installing multiple times on different PC's (incl. a VM with WinXP) and on different networks (office and home) and all have the same or similar problem.

The downloaded file is the same size as what you describe above.

In some cases it says "1152: Error extracting to the temporary location."
In other cases it says "Error reading setup initialization file."

I tried cleaning up the TMP directory. I tried setting the environment variables TMP and TEMP to a new clean location in a CMD window and start the setup from there. All still the same error.

It suggests that the file is corrupted. Given that multiple people already experience this problem and on multiple networks and multiple PC's and different version, I would think the file is corrupted on the TI end?

Please help and maybe you can look again if an older version of the installer exists somewhere (I actually can't believe that in an organisation like TI older version of software are not archived).

    Regards,

    Marco
  • Hi, Marco,

I have tried with the latest PPS version and it actually has the same message, this is strange as two weeks ago I downloaded the same file with same network and had no issues. We need to check with our team and see if there is effectively a problem with our MySecure Software system.

In the meantime (to anyone with the same problem) please send me your email address on an e2e message and I can point to an external source for download.
