TLV320AIC3104: Question of TLV320AIC3104 Power Sequence

Hi Sirs,

Customer got TLV320AIC3104 malfunction problem and could not be restarted by a soft reset, the only way is HW reboot (unplugged and plugged supply again).
We assume it is a power up sequence problem.

There is reset chart with the TLV320AIC3104 datasheet but 1.8V and 3.3V sequences were not included. We also confirmed that customer meets 10ns delay between power supply and reset signal.

Would you please review the enclosed power up sequence and advise 1.8V and 3.3V power up sequence specification of the TLV320AIC3104 device?

hello Wayne,

Is the 3.3V supply feeding IOVDD, AVDD and DRVDD?

The power supply sequence is really flexible on these devices, we rarely see issues with power sequencing. On the EVM the timing is much tighter than you have shown and we do not see problems.

Can you tell me more about the problem?

Hello Steve,

Some of customer's AIC3104 stops working which needs a power cycling to solve it. Do you need customer's system clock configuration and AIC3104 configuration for trouble shooting?

hi Wayne,

It is always helpful to have a configuration, you've mentioned that the AIC3104 stops working, but when does it stop working? at power up? Please provide their clock frequencies as well. I would like to know their MCLK, BCLK, WCLK so I can properly assess their config.

Wayne, can you show the full power sequence for your customer, including DVDD,AVDD, and IOVDD as well as the reset pin?
