PCM1865: Digital PDM Microphone

Hi Champ,

Due to do debugging the Digital Microphone, My customer would like to use PCM1865EVM. I understood that customer would be able to input audio data into PCM1865EVM because there is detail description in Datasheet “9.3.8.2 Digital PDM Microphones”. Regarding Audio-data-out, customer would like to verify/confirm this sound on PC.I tried to check PCM1865 datasheet/ PCM1865 EVM User Guide, I could not find the detail information about this.

Is it possible to confirm audio sound on PC via USB?

I appreciate your Expert’s comments on this.

Hi, Takayuki,

It is possible to test the PCM1865EVM and verify the recorded data in the computer through the USB-I2X board. The EVM can be configured for this with the GUI by using it in Mode 2, where the audio clocks are generated in the USB-I2X board, which is used to interface with the computer:

Then, the same GUI can be used to configure the GPIOs to interface the Digital mic and select the digital mic input as the audio source:

Thanks for your detail clarification. I think it is helpful for our customer.

By the way, since I'd like to confirm this setting, I had requested purepath console. .
However, I did not received any email.

Hi, Miyazaki,

I have consulted with our team and your access to PPC has been approved, a confirmation email should have arrived by now. If the email didn't arrive, it means you already have access so please go to mySecure Software site and download PPC2.
