TPA3100D2: Supply goes dead on connecting speaker

Part Number: TPA3100D2

I am trying to fix my bose soundtouch 30 speaker that uses the tpa3100d2 for powering the tweeters and a TDF8599BTHN1C for powering the woofer, both using a common power supply of 24 volts.

This suddenly stopped giving any sound, and on examination I found the supply voltage goes to zero. On disconnecting the tweeters from the set and rebooting the woofer starts working and the power supply remains

at 30 volts.

The tweeters are not shorted and substitute speakers on tpa3100d2 cause the same problem. Does this mean that this ic should be replaced or can it be caused by any of the components connected to it?

Thanks for any assistance.
