TAS5825MEVM: Driving two amplifers separately in mono 1.1

Part Number: TAS5825MEVM

Hi,

Working with the TAS5825EVM in PPC3, it is possible to configure the speakers in Mono 1.1. In this configuration there is one amp outputting the same audio to one tweeter and one woofer. However, there are two audio paths, one for the tweeter and one for the woofer, with separate DRCs and crossover filters.

Is it possible to run both amps on the EVM at the same time in a similar 1.1 setup with one channel for two tweeters (OUT1 and OUT2) and the other for two woofers (OUT3 and OUT4)? The Stereo 2.2 configuration seems to require stereo in and yield 2*stereo out .

Thanks in advance,

Gustaf

  • Hi Gustaf,

I think you are talking about this kind of speaker configuration below, right?

It is not yet supported by the existing TAS5825MEVM app. As you have already found, one workaround is to choose the 2.2 speaker configuration (one device driving two woofers and another driving two tweeters).
