PCM9211: Parity Error

Hi,

Could you please tell me whether PCM9211 works like as figure 27 if detecting the parity error when inputting Non-PCM data and setting "01" to PRTPRO[1:0](23h) ?
My understanding is that PCM9211 only detects the parity error on this case.

Hi, Kato-san,

Register with PRTPRO setting selects if the device will detect the parity error with PCM data or PCM and non-PCM data. If you set this as "01", the device will detect parity error only when PCM data is provided. If set as "10", the parity error detection will be enabled for both PCM and non-PCM data. The behavior for both scenarios of figure 27 should be the same.

Is my understanding correct that for non-PCM data PCM9211 cannot be detect the parity error if setting "01" to PRTPRO[1:0] ?
Please check it just in case since I should inform it to our customer.
