TAS6422-Q1: Can the TAS6422-Q1 Single Output be Connected with 5~6 Speakers (5W/16ohms) in Parallel?

Part Number: TAS6422-Q1

Hi TI Team,

We use TAS6422-Q1 and connect 10~12 speakers (5W/16ohms) in parallel in the output of the two output.

Does increasing the impedance matching circuit make the speaker working?

whether there is a problem of uneven distribution of applications in parallel?

Does TI have an impedance-matched reference design for a parallel speaker?

  • The TAS6422 can drive two x 2 ohm loads in BTL mode.  In PBTL, parallel BTL, mode, it can drive 1 ohm.  Twelve 16 ohm speakers is equivalent to 1.33 ohms and can be driven with a TAS6422-Q1 amplifier PBTL mode.

An impedance matching circuit is not needed.

The question in the title is similar to the PBTL case.  Six 16 ohm speakers is 2.66 ohms, so it can easily be driven in BTL mode.
