TAS5634: How to set output channel configuraiton on TAS5534/5538?

HI TI,

For TAS 5534 output channel configuration, I want to select channel 3, channel 4 to Front Left , Front Right speaker and channel 1 to subwoofer.

I have reference below:

I have referred tas5534_datasheet page84 9.20, I have no idea how to set channel 3, channel 4 to Front Left , Front Right speaker and channel 1 to subwoofer.

Could you help with that?

Vick,

The TAS5538 and associated amplifier do not select which channel is defined as which. It's up to you to decide which channel on the output is connected to the FL/FR/subwoofer speakers.

Sorry, more clear:

As spec,

x34 00000001 unused PWM Mux select for channel 1 unused PWM Mux select for channel 2
x35 00100011 unused PWM Mux select for channel 3 unused PWM Mux select for channel 4

Dx+2 Dx+1 Dx FUNCTION
0 0 0 Select channel 1
0 0 1 Select channel 2
0 1 0 Select channel 3
0 1 1 Select channel 4

So what if I want to output PWM only Channel 3 and Channel 4, How do I fill the reg 0x34 and 0x35?

Vick,

Any channel that you want can have channel 3 or 4 populated.

For example, to select CH3 for both output CH 1 and 2, CH4 for output CH 3 and 4:

x34 00100010

x35 00110011

I would suggest requesting the PurePathConsole program so you can adjust the registers directly and view the resulting register codes:

Once you Request and are approved, please download and install "setup_PurePathConsole_Main_v1.16_rev35470.exe"
