TAS5825M: Can We Dump TAS5825 CFG Without USB EVM Connected?

Hi Sirs,

Can I import TAS5766 PPC3 to TAS5825 GUI and dump CFG off line without an USB EVM attached?
(It is mandatory to dump TAS5766 CFG with an EVM attached)

Could you please clarify customer's aim of doing in this way?

As to your questions:

TAS5825 cannot import TAS5766's PPC3 because they are incompatible. In your picture, you are pointing to import char data of speaker, for the characterization data of speaker from learning board, it can be imported to both TAS5766 and TAS5825;
As to dumping cfg file in offline, both TAS5825 and TAS5766 can dump cfg file offline. Could you please help to share to me why you think it is mandatory to dump TAS5766 CFG with an EVM attached

Thank you Alix,

I found 72 different dumped instructions with EVM and without EVM attached. I got no sound problem with dumped CFG with no EVM attached. Here is the examples from the same PPC3 file.

Hi Wayne,

Two main reasons are for the mismatch:

Mismatches arise mostly because the app tries to write to a reserved register, which gets masked by the device. This is the designed behaviour of the app.
The dump contains registers which are not part of the initialization script. Because of which , in online mode (EVM Connected), dump would return the default value present in the device whereas in the offline mode (No EVM connected), dregs would return just 0x00.

Hence basically, Online mode is recommended.
