PCM5242：PCM5242 can delay 150ms or not?

Hi Sir,

Our customer have one application need to use PCM5242 for delay 150ms output, I saw about the PCM5242 user guide is different than PCM5142, the PCM5142 miniDSP can development by myself, but the PCM5242

can't, so my customer want to know the PCM5242 can delay 150ms output or not?

    Hi Larry,

    Our goal for the PCM5242 was to use the hybrid flows for all customer developments. The PCM5142 is supported by PurePath Studio which allows the customer to create their own flow. If you would like to create a custom flow with PPS and the PCM5242, I can provide you the PCM5242 framework. While there is a Delay component in PPS, it is based on number samples. If you are running at 48k samples per second you will need to delay 7200 samples. I do not think the PCM5xxx can queue that many samples internally, so you may be better off implementing this on a DSP.

    Glad to hear that, Could you provide the PCM5242 framwork to me? Maybe I can try by myself, but may I ask about the delay component, How many delay time maximum for the delay component? Thanks a lot.

    I am not sure about the max delay, but I highly doubt that you can achieve 150ms unless you reduce the sample rate significantly.
