TLV320AIC3262: Audio Sampling rate buffer application

Part Number: TLV320AIC3262
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM5100, TLV320ADC3101,

Hi Masters,

One of my customers propose a requirement of a device for different audio sampling rate compatibility. There issue comes from a mismatch between a BT module and Audio DSP. The Audio DSP integrates Codec function and sampling MIC signal and output I2S in 44.1KHz, but the BT module I2S can only support 8KHz. So they want to add a device between Audio DSP and BT module. I do some search, 2 options seem to be good to me: 1) TLV320AIC3262, which is a very powerful device and seems can support this function. 2) PCM5100+TLV320ADC3101, which must use 2 devices to achieve this function.

Could you please help to see whether we have more suitable solutions?

Thanks

Eric

  • Hi, Eric,

The sampling rate on the AIC3262 should be the same on all the audio serial interfaces used, so it may not be a good solution. For application like this, you may need a sampling rate converter to interface between the SoC and BT module under the mentioned conditions. The solution with the PCM5100 and ADC3101 is not common but might work as well, but please consider that the audio serial interfaces for each side should be independent.
