Linux/TLV320DAC3120: miniDSP usecase for Analog Speakers.

Hi All,

We are using TLV320DAC3120 in our design and we are using this for Playback on Speaker purposes. We are using Analog Speaker

We would like to know that can we use miniDSP in our design. Since we have seen that it's for digital audio processing, do this support for Digital speaker only or for both Digital and Analog.

Hi Mohan,

The miniDSP can be used only if the audio stream comes from the digital I2S interface. Audio coming from AIN1/AIN2 cannot be processed by the miniDSP.
Is that what you were asking?

Hi Ivan,

We are playing an Pre-recorded audio file(using aplay linux utility) and we are using SPKP1 and SPKM1 in which intern connected to an 8Ohm external speaker. Also, we are not using AIN1 and AIN2 in our design

Mohan,

If audio comes from digital audio interface then it can be processed by miniDSP, regardless of the selected output (Class-D or headphone)

Thanks for letting me know.

Going one step further, i would like to know how to configure the miniDSP configurations?. Is there any open source SDK or Windows Application to use it or is there any firmware which shall be provided from TI end ?

Mohan,

You can use PurePath Studio for miniDSP configurations.
You need to request access to the software and download/install it. To do this you can go to "Tools & Software" tab from the product folder.
