TAS2560: TAS2560 - min PCB layer

Part Number: TAS2560

Hi

May i know min PCB layer required to lay TAS2560?
The EVM is 12 layer board.

  • Hi Kelvin,

Actually the EVM has a count of 6 copper layers, the rest of the layers show the silkscreen and other mechanical/fab guidelines.
So a layer count of 6 would be good: 4 signal layers and 2 power layers.
Going down to 4 layers would depend on the PCB fab process (via-in-pad, trace width) and how the internal signals can be routed out of the device.

  • Hi Ivan

Customer is considering 4 layer board without buried via (via-in-pad) and blind via. All connected with trough hole with escape at concern layers. This mean all via is trough via and only connect at concern layers, no connect layer will be escape. Have you seen any users with 4 layer board?

  • Hi Kelvin,

I think I recall one revision I did that used 4-layer board but don't remember the details.
Anyway, the most inner pads of the package include two NC pins as well as GND pins, so routing on 4-layer board should be possible.
