TAS2560: Related to Boost side inductor connection

Part Number: TAS2560

Hello!

Can I use the Vbat pin directly to the SW pin without an inductor connection if I do not want to use the Boost function on the TAS2650?

I do not need a large output to boost the voltage (less than 1W of power used).

Tahnk you

Best regards.

From Anthony

  • Hi Anthony,

The boost can be disabled by controlling the PWR_CTRL_1 (0x07) register.
About removing the inductor, you could try by removing it and shorting VBAT to SW. The output of the boost (VBOOST) should still have decoupling capacitor. This is not tested so I couldn't assure that it works fine, you would have to evaluate performance.
