Hi Hayashi-san,
Since PCM9211 is quite complex device w DIR/DIT/ADC and multiple MPIO ports, typical use case for this device entails configuring several registers to configure the device to achieve the given use case. This can be achieved using software control mode where we configure the device using the SPI or I2C.
There is no Hardware control for this device (or at least there is no common use case) unless the default routing works for a given application. This would mean that we can use PCM9211 in default mode [as outlined in 8.3.8.9 Default Routing Function (After Reset)] and hence we do not need to configure any register.
Thanks & Best regards,
Ravi
Hi Hayashi-san,
As Ravi-san mentioned, this means that PCM9211 can be used without accessing the control registers after the power-on reset or external reset event.
However, it is possible to control only a power-down function with /RST pin if using PCM9211 with the hardware mode.
Best regards,
Kato
