Survey Audio Codec and AMP

Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

We are survey Codec and AMP solution, could you help suggest for us?

Application:

The source is SPDIF , the end device is 4ch 4ohm 10W +2ch 4ohm 0.5W+1ch mono 4 ohm 20W speaker output

The Audio source are PCM uncompressed audio

1.SPDIF codec (SPDIF in and 8 channel out) solution

2.Because customer would like to selet EQ at audio channel, so we prefer include DSP or codex function solution.

3.Support 4ohm 10W mono 20W AMP / 4ohm 0.5W amplifier

 Thanks!!

  • Hi Shu,
Unfortunately, we do not have a codec which supports S/PDIF input but we can probably use a DIR which can convert S/PDIF to I2S stream which can be handed to codec. Can you please clarify overall system in bit more details to be able to recommend the overall solution? Would it be ok to assume you are open to multi-chip solution?

Can you please clarify the requirements when it comes to end device (speaker out) requirements?

    Best regards,
    Ravi
  • Hi Sirs,

Basically the overall architecture as below
Because the ICs of DP that only separate the sound source signal into SPDIF output.
We would like to know have any way to convert it into an analog source +amplifier after SPDIF source output?

Does TI has the right advice to provide and have specifications for us to refer to?

    Thanks!!

  • Hi Sirs,
    Sorry for pushed,
    Any update on this?

    Thanks!!
  • Hi Shu,

i was reviewing the requirements w. my colleagues as well here and we still do not understand the requirements very clearly. Can you please elaborate on "convert it into an analog source +amplifier after SPDIF source output?" requirements?

In general, we do not have any codecs which can take S/PDIF in or out and we also do not have 8 output channels on any codecs either...so we may not be able to recommend any codecs but we should definitely have the right AMP for this application & will have the Audio Amplifier team recommend the right parts to consider.

    Best regards,
    Ravi

  • Hi Sirs
