Hi TI,

we are using TAS5630B in BTL mode; having 2 separate channels. The design is almost identical to the evaluation kit, but we have a 1:4 transformer connected to each output channel to get 100V. The nominal load at secondary will give 100W and power supply is 50V.

The design seems to work OK with load, but with small or no load TAS5630B sometimes gets defect when a sudden 1kHz signal is inserted.

Do you have any idea why this happens? Is TAS5630B sensitive to inductive load?

    We do not test or characterize using transformers or highly inductive loads. In the past we have seen issues where customers had trouble starting up the devices because of the magnetization current of the transformer. Please take a look at this app note:
