TLV320AIC3104EVM-K: TLV320AIC3104EVM-K doesn't work

Part Number: TLV320AIC3104EVM-K
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3104

Hello,

I am using the TLV320AIC3104 Evaluation Module and USB Motherboard, I cannot make it work. When I connect the board to the pc using a usb cable (after installing USB-MODEVM drivers) it is recognized as a usb audio card.

When I try to play a sound using this audio card I cannot heard anything using headset or speaker.

If I try to use its configuration software TLV320AIC310xEVM-K Graphical User Interface (GUI) I always get “Connect USB” although it is connected.

All jumpers are in their factory default conditions.

I don’t kwon why I can’t  heard anything. There is some way to check the TLV320AIC3104 is working correctly?

Why could these problems be happening? It seems the usb-modevm board is working correctly but TLV320AIC3104 doesn’t it.

Best regards.

  • Hi, Gustavo,

Welcome to E2E, thanks for your interest in our products.

The EVM seems to be properly detected by the computer, so it is possible that the issue is related to the software. In order to record/playback audio from the EVM, the codec should be programmed, so the GUI should be used. Have you tried to run the GUI in compatibility mode?.

  • Thank you for your quick answer.

I have tried to run the application in compatibility mode but I always get the same error "Connect USB".

There is some way to check the TLV320AIC3104 is working correctly? Using a polimeter I can see the power is correct in the TLV320AIC3104, there is any led or test point to check the TLV320AIC3104 is working?

    Best regards.

  • Hello,

Finally could make it work in a Windows 7 PC.

Now, I would like to know if it is possible to save configuration in the board. When I set the parameters using the GUI, the board work ok but when I reset the board configuration is removed. There is some way to set a configuration in a non volatile memory?

    Best regards.
  • Hi, Gustavo,

Unfortunately there is no way to save the complete configuration on a non-volatile location, the codec in the EVM should be programmed after each power-up. The registers written to the device are logged with the command buffer in the command line interface tab, you can save them in a script file and load it with the tool after power-up.
