TAS5162: optimized PWM Timing

Hello all,

my customer asks what would be the optimized PWM timing for our TAS5162 to achieve lowest THD and long time stability.

My customer is using 48Vdc as power supply and 384kHz as modulation frequency. The off-time for high - and the low side FET

is in the moment 14nsec. My customer has the possibility to program the ON/OFF times very precisely.

The application is a high end active audio speaker.

Egon,

I am told that there can be minor improvements in the THD by adjusting the inter-channel delay settings in the modulator. Thie was done by trial and error in the past.

I would suggest starting with default timing and adjusting to see how this effects the resulting THD. This will be different for every system so the calibration will be need to be done on your hardware.
