PCM1802: No clocks or data output...am I doing something wrong?

I've wired up the PCM1802 as shown below, but I'm not seeing any output from any of the three data lines. I've tried to configure the part to be an I2S master, and to never shut down. There's no input. Shouldn't the ADC make output even without input?

HI, John,

In order to configure the PCM1802 as Master, you need to provide a system clock to SCLK pin as the I²S clocks are generated from this clock.

Got it, thanks! Can you point me at some requirements for the clock, like frequency stability?

Hi, John,

There are not strict constraints for the system clock of this device, your system should work properly as long as the general guidelines highlighted in section 7.3.3 of the datasheet are followed.
