LF442-MIL: I need to verify the correct part number replacing LF442MH/883.

Part Number: LF442-MIL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LF442QML,

Hello,

I have been using LF442QML (actual orderable part number is LF442MH/883 N) which I believe was tested to  Mil-Std-883, Method 5005 - Group A.   Now I see this product is no longer offered.  However I can purchase LF442AMH which states -55 to 125degC operation.  Can you tell me the actual differences of the two parts?  Note I only can find the data sheet for the LF442QML from external content aggregators.

Also If the LF442AMH is not tested to the '883 standard above then can you tell me if this is still using the same package materials or have there been other changes?

Thank you,

HSG

  • Note that the LF442MH/883 is going obsolete but there is still inventory available for order.   Although the LF442QML datasheet is no longer available the part is still covered on the SMD 5962-9763301QGA.

The LF442AMH is an industrial grade part.   The wafer fab and assembly sites and processes are the same for the industrial and mil grade products, but the industrial part does not get the Groups A, B, C or D QCI.  Testing is done in different locations and the industrial part is only tested at room temperature and does not get burn-in.

Most of the parametric limits are the same for the two products with a few differences over temperature.   The limits on the industrial part were set by the product distribution, whereas the mil part is tested to limits tighter than the distribution at hot and cold.

I also noticed a typo in the industrial datasheet LF442-MIL.   In the parametric table, the second time "input offset voltage" is listed, it should really be "Input offset current".
