Linux/LM49350: Routing i2s audio data from port 1 to port 2

Hi Experts,

I am trying to route the audio data from port1 to port2, the data in port1 comes via an i2s interface.

I have set the basic settings registers 0x50 and 0x60 as 0x1f. the problem is that

clock signals get generated in port 1 and get sent to the i2s interface. Is my register settings correct? or can

you suggest me how to set the register so that I can route the data from port 1 to port 2 where my speaker is connected to.

Hello Shyam,

The Port 2 input register also needs to be set. the value 0x05 will pass the port 1 RX to the PORT 2 TX.

Of course registers 0x51/61 - 0x56-66 should also be set to the formatting that you desire.

I have one more query, from my processor end I am sending data to port 1. So if I leave Audio Port 1 Input (0x42h) register as 0x00 is it correct?

Or should I configure DAC?

Shyam,

Register 0x42 controls the mux that feeds the Port 1 TX pin. So if you want to send audio data from the codec to the Processor, it would make sense to use this.

I'm not sure what you mean by your second question. you are using the DAC correct? so you should configure the DAC.
