We are using PCM4222 in our new product development for data acquistion System.
In one single board we have 12 numbers of PCM4222 devices for 24 channels. We have configured the PCM4222 in quad speed PCM Mode with MClk clock at 13.1072MHz. We are sampling the data at 204Ksps
The ADC is configured in Master Mode. After we release the reset with MCLK applied, the PCM4222 gets very hot. Around 50 degree C case temp at room ambient (25c) that makes the complete board very Hot.
For testing purposes configured the Device is slave mode also but no improvement in device dissipating heat.
The data sheet of PCM mentions maximum power dissipation of around 375 mw. All the connections to the ADC are absolutely correct and we are receiving the correct data out of ADC at room temp.
Our product operating tenp is up to 60 degree C.Need your feedback at the earliest to resolve this issue.
Why the device is generating so much heat. It is adding heat to nearby opamps thereby changing their offsets and other parameters.
Also no thermal resistance and Junction temp data is provided in the data sheet. Can someone help us in resolving this issue on top priority. We are about to release the boards in production.
The only isssue we are facing is the heat generated by ADC PCM4222 chip.
