TAS5411Q1EVM: The EVM has noise, why ?

Dear all

I test the TAS5411Q1EVM, but there is noise when don't have input. why?

1. The speaker is 4Ω/5W；

2. PVDD is connected with 12V battery.

3. SDA SCL INP INM is connected nothing.

Question:

1. The speaker has noise output. Why ? It will effect amplified voice.

2. How to eliminate the noise ? Could you share some methods ?

Hi Went,
Your test is based on the TAS5411-Q1 EVM, right? It's not expected that only noise is shown on the AMP output. Please set up the board according to the user's guide: www.ti.com/.../slou431.pdf. Please show us more info/picture on your setup.

Yes, I test the EVM.

I had not setup,because in the datasheet of TAS5411-Q1, it said the default set can work.So I just power on the EVM with there is not I2C INP INM. Then test the speaker that move it close to ear.

Went,
When testing for noise, the input INM and INP must be shorted together. If you leave them open, noise is introduced from the open inputs. Also, placing a speaker to your ear is not a quantitative method for measuring noise. You need to use an audio analyzer to determine if the noise level is within the datasheet specifications.
