TAS5630B: IC burned out

Part Number: TAS5630B

Hai,

I have used TAS5630B chip for class-D amplifier circuit. whenever the load is applied on the circuit the IC is burned out. i am using 50V/2.5AMPS adapter as input supply. Can i know what would be the issue? Can i know what is the recommended power supply specifications?

Hi prasad.
Many reason could cause the AMP devices damaged. Did you measure the output voltage from the adapter? It should be always within the recommended PVDD operating voltage range. Please also show us the SCH if possible.

Hai shawn,

Yes, i have measured output voltage from adapter it is about 50V, and i have checked PVDD recommended operating voltage range it is about 25V-50V in the datasheet. i am using 4ohm 50watt speaker and 8ohm 100watt speaker. Can i know what would be the reason?

Hi Prasad,

From past experience if the device is able to turn on, but then fails as soon as power is driven across the load then it is likely an over voltage condition. The device can operate temporarily at idle with an over voltage supply, but as soon as power is driven the circuit is over stressed and fails.

More information such as the schematic, diagram of the speaker connection, or a more detailed explanation of what you mean by "whenever the load is applied" will be needed for any other possible causes.

The link you posted is the EVM user's guide, this does not help me debug the issue on your board. Can you send your schematic please?

Hi Prasad,

Could you please answer the following:
-What setting is the switch in when it fails?
-Load impedance?
-Power across load when failure occurs?
-Does failure happen before or after audio is played across the load?
-Do both channels fail or only one?
-Does this happen on every part or only a certain number of parts?
