PCM2904: Headphone Output

Hi,

Should the active low pass filter be added to the signal output path if using VOUTL and VOUTR as the headphone output ?
In addition, is a click sound heard if using PCM2904 without the active low pass filter ?

    Hi, Kato-san,

    The Analog outputs of this device are targeted for line applications, so they cannot be used as headphone drivers. For a headphone application, an external headphone amplifier should be used. 

    For this application, the click and pop suppression may be implemented on the amplifier stage.

    Thank you for your prompt reply.

    I haven't received any comments about this point from you when asking you to review customer's schematic which is used the headphone jack in the past, so the active filter isn't applied to PCM2904.
    Is this noise improved by applying the active filter ?
